 After intensive work, we have managed to bypass
the encryption of the EDC-16 heavily protected ECU for the
BMW 320 td (150 hp) and for the new (2003)Mercedes CDI-models.

Chiptuning for the Ford TDCi-models possible! |

 As now Chiptuning for the Turbodiesel engines
from Ford with 115hp and 130hp (from 2002) is possible. The
Powerincrease is about 30hp and 60Nm.
During the past a tuning of this engines had
not much sense, since the smoke production after the Chiptuning
was enorm and not possible to bypass.
Right now we have managed to produce a software
release for this engine that solves the smoke problem completely
- a powerincrease without the snaggy soot cloud. The Smoke
emission after the tuning will stay as with the stock software!

 January 2003 UPsolute participated the AutoZum
in Salzburg, Austria. AutoZum is a international show for
car workshop and gas station equipment, car spare parts and
equipment, chemical products and environment technique.

 A Turbo Diesel won the Austrian Gran Tourismo Challenge.
All doubted, nobody believed, some hoped, finally all are impressed.
Herbert Karrer won the championship (with a TDI engine)
The Austrian Touring Car Challenge is the world
first racing league which started 2002 to allow gasoline cars
compete turbo diesel cars in one racing class. The cars are
all limited to 2 liter cylinder capacity. An interesting racing
season was expected.

English Database online |

 Finally, we have managed
to get the English version of the database working. The delay
was caused since all the data was stored as text, and so a
calculation of the different values was simply not possible.
That's future oriented database design ;-) So we needed to
convert the text values to numeric and then it was easy to
calculate the different values (mp/h, mpg, torque)... I hope
this makes it easier for the 'non metric' users to understand
the database.
