Upsolute in the UK

Alex,
As you can see, quite a few people would take up the offer at the drop of a hat if you guys managed to come down to the UK. How about coming down to the GTI International thats happening here in England on the 12/13th May? You could have a mobile stall set up, and I can virtually guarantee you that it would be a huge success - I myself have already got about 5 people who are just waiting for your UK outfit to be finalized. If you want some more details on GTI International, just let us know. But as you can see by the size of this thread - something for the UK needs to be done, sooner, hopefully, rather than later!
;)

And me!
But WHERE'S THE GRAPHS??? Please.
Also I noticed that you quote 280nm torque for the Leon upgrade and 300nm for the Audi 1.8TQ. They are both the same engine!
I appreciate that engines can chip differently which is one of the reasons I want to see some graphs....

Sorry there was a fault at our database, we took the torque numbers from the 150hp Version (engine). You also will get 300NM torque... Sorry for the confusion\r\n...alex
PS: We have the same engine in our demo car (Audi TT) ;).\\r\n

Alex,
So what do you think then? Gti International would surely be a great idea.
You decide how many cars you can chip in a weekend. Posters on this forum get priority - naturally! We can give you all the relevant details (codes etc.) and even post you cheques if you like. There are bound to be enough of us for you to turn a profit, and think of the great exposure and advertising you would get. I'd think you'd have dealers cueing up to supply your chips. Especially after they see the activity round your pitch!
It would appear to be the only way that we in the UK can get upsoluted before summer (not that that lasts long).
Please give it some thought.

Alex,
Here is the link to the website of the people organising GTI International. If you like the sound of making some serious money (cos I know for definite that its going to be a HUGE success if you are able to chip on the day) then give them a call or email, and see if you can negotiate something with them. Trust me - we are all holding on hoping you guys will be able to make it. ;)

Gti international would be an excellant idea, I know I for one want to be booked in if it can happen. Willing to pay in advance to guarantee my attendance.

Hey Alex,
If you were able to come over here for a weekend, how many of us could you fit chips for and what sort of preparation would you need ... I assume details of the car and of the chips in the ECU at least.
Maybe we're being unrealistic ... would you make enough from the income for the chips and the fitting to make this worth your while?

I note from the Vortex forum that Upsolute chips at weekend get togethers, the post i read said Canada. But maybe that's a local dealer?
I would have thought your costs would have been:
A LWB van for a few days (if you haven't got your own)
A couple of your finest English speaking men.
A return Chunnel ticket
Petrol (best buy it over there!)
A room at the Holiday Inn for the night over here
The fee to Gti International
It's not an enourmous amount of money is it?
And the benefits of your advertising, happy customers (word of mouth) and the fees for the chipping would surely make it worth your while.
Please let us know your thoughts.

Yes, maybe it would be really a good idea to visit the UK ;) The problem is with a van it would really take some time to reach the UK. Maybe it's better to take the plane. But with the plane our equipment would be limited, but this would not be a problem. All we need are some soldering tools, and a laptop. Hmmm, give me more details I start thinking about it ;)
Where exactly it the GTI Meeting? Is it near London? How many cars will be lined up? If you help a little (removing ECU) we can do a lot of cars at a weekend ;)
plz. give me further details, you really started to make me thinking about it

Alex,
use this link, it gives a contact email address to the organisers. The event is VERY big, probbably the biggest gathering of it's kind. It's just west of London.

You would have to register as a trader with them (a few pounds), and as for how many cars would be lined up......how many do you want!
What is a sensible amount of cars to be able to chip in a weekend? You decide and we will place orders with you from the forum. if you can do any more than this then there will be many people on the day i'm sure. I suggest placing a notice on the 1.8t forum in Vortex, as not everyone knows of this one.
Would you need money up front or is on the day OK? What information will you need from us about our engines/ECU's?
Finally! as i'm only taking delivery of my brand new Golf 1.8t next Tuesday, how many miles should i do before i get chipped?

Alex, when I do the GTG's the guys help one another by helping each other pull ECU's and such, so you can do more than you think, but given the response I have seen here and on the vortex, you are going to have to bring some help. If that proves difficult let me know, I'll fly over there. :)

Oh dear, in danger of getting over-excited at 2.45 am!
Ok, for the May GTI International event, maybe it's time for all us UK hopefuls to give a show of hands for Alex & Valois. Car/model/engine so that they have some idea.
As 1.8Turbonut suggests, we could then follow up with firm commitments and technical/payment details. Alex ... how much notice for these do you need?

We are able to bring up a 3 men team. I'would take 2 guys in the luggage ;) One tuner, one soldering specialist, and me doing both (or enjoying the fest?)... So I guess, we are able to handle some cars... :)

It looks like Alex will have it covered for the workforce. :) Still I would love to come and see England, I will look at what a flight will cost and let you know if I can make it. Sounds like alot of fun.

I guess the weekend on the 24-25th March would be the best way. We are just checking out the flights ;)
